The Indian auto industry is one of the largest in the world and accounts for 7.1% of the national GDP. In 2014-15, 31% of small cars sold globally were manufactured in India. The two-wheelers segment with 81% market share is the leader of the Indian automobile market owing to a growing middle class and a young population. The Indian automotive sector has the potential to create 65 million additional jobs and contribute over 12% to national GDP, as per the Automotive Mission Plan 2016-26[1].
The course shall equip successful trainees with the knowledge and skills required for service and repair of electrical and electronic faults in the vehicle across the various sub-systems and aggregates. They shall be trained to carry out service and repairs of electrical and electronic faults/errors in a vehicle, plan and organise work to meet expected outcomes, work effectively in a team, and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment.
Job prospects: Automotive Electrician, Electrical Technician and Electrical Mechanic
150 hours of internship in auto service centers and auto dealerships.
Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees
