The Indian media and entertainment industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the country. The industry is expected to exceed Rs. 227,000 crore by 2018, growing at compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 per cent. The Indian Print Industry continued its journey at a steady rate in 2014 with most players strengthening their presence in the existing markets, and consolidating their existing operations. The structure of the Indian Print Industry continues to be highly fragmented with both national and regional players present in the market.
The course is intended to equip the successful trainee with the requisite skills to develop their writing and communication skills with the masses through print media like newspapers, magazines etc. On successful completion of this course, the trainees shall have an understanding of reporting and writing for print, subbing stories perfectly, writing suitable headlines and leads, prepare layout of newspapers and magazines, editing photos, tools of journalism, ethical and legal issues in journalism, critical thinking in journalism, media laws and ethics, amongst others.[1]

150 hours of internship in print media industry like newspapers, magazines etc.
Continuous assessment as well as final assessment will be carried out by Kerala Media Academy. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and Kerala Media Academy, to successful trainees.
