8 Batches of Crash Finishing Course for Nurses commenced on April 8th

In the budget speech for current fiscal year 2020-21, Government announced a crash finishing course to 10,000 qualified nurses for overseas employment through Additional Skill Acquisition Programme , Kerala. The program envisages to enhance the employability quotient of nurses in the state in tune with the demand in various countries as Keralite nurses are highly skilled and highly adaptable to the country specific needs and medical orientation. The Keralite nurses are rated as one of the best skilled medical professional all across the globe and acclimatization of various soft skill set needed in different countries is to be imparted to these professionals to enhance their employability, thereby opening new vistas into their professional and personal life.

The government, taking into account the track record in skill development initiatives, has entrusted ASAP to be the implementing agency for the crash finishing skill training programme. The programme is divided into 3 components,

Language Training

Clinical training

Overseas placement.

A pre course assessment will be conducted to assess the pre training language proficiency level of the candidate. Those candidates who are assessed to be in the English proficiency band of 4.5 – 6.5 are only inducted into the training program and the students will be segregated as:

Candidates in the 4.5-5.5 band will be categorized as B1
Candidates in the 5.5 – 6.5 band will be categorized as B2.

The fee structure for the two category of candidates are fixed as:

B1 Category Candidates: Rs 24142 + GST
B2 Category Candidates: Rs 10470 + GST

ASAP has partnered with British council for language training, Aster DM healthcare for clinical training. The candidates who attains the specified language proficiency level as per NHS, UK will be offered placement through ODEPEC , a Govt of Kerala initiative . ASAP- Nurses Crash Finishing Course offers an exciting employment opportunity for nurses to work in the UK. This programme is designed to equip students with a greater understanding of the conduct and performance requirements for high quality healthcare practice within a UK adult nursing context.

The classes for the first 8 batches of Crash Finishing Course were commenced on April 8th.
