ASAP wins project
in India award from

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has awarded ASAP the best projects in India for effectively implementing the Gender Action Plan (GAP).

A Project Gender Action Plan (GAP) is ADB’s key gender mainstreaming tool and the mechanism for ensuring the gender-inclusive design and implementation of projects. GAPs include clear targets, quotas, gender design features, and quantifiable performance indicators to ensure women’s participation and benefits.

From the time of association with ADB, ASAP has been following their guidelines in ensuring proper implementation of GAP. 60% of our enrolled students are female, 60% of our trainers are female, and last but not least 50% of our Programme Managers are female, which shows that ASAP promotes women in all areas of implementation of this program.

In the year 2019, we had spearheaded a one of kind event at Thiruvananthapuram named ' Samathwa-2019' which was inaugurated by Padma Bhushan Mallika Sarabhai, and the event was honored with the presence of Hon. Minister for Higher Education Dr. K.T Jaleel. Following this event an exclusive Women-centric Skill Programme named 'She-Skills 2019'.

She-Skills 2019 was a success story added to the storyline of ASAP, as it catered to women from all spheres of community and most importantly from all age-group.

Considering all these ADB had considered ASAP the flagship project Govt. of Kerala in Skill Development, for this prestigious award among the 85 ongoing projects in India.
