Industry Highlights:

The growth of the construction sector in India is heralding wider opportunities for the Plumbing services market. Increasing investments from commercial (IT and retail), industries, residential, hotels, and hospitals, etc. have given the required impetus to the growth of this market. With more complex buildings getting designed and constructed, there is a growing need of trained plumbers. In India, there is a requirement of 12 lakh trained plumbers by 2020, while the current availability is 2.5 lakh, with most of them untrained or self-trained.

 

Course Highlights:

The course shall equip the successful trainees with the requisite knowledge and skills for providing assistance in preliminary installation and minor repair work of basic plumbing

systems in domestic, commercial and institutional setups. On completion of the course, the successful trainees will be able to undertake pre-installation activities such as material preparation and tool handling as well as provide assistance in maintenance activities

Career Options:

Job prospects: On successful completion of the skill course the student can work as an Assistant Plumber in a reputed organization / or with a licensed Master Plumber

 

Internship:

150 hours of internship with leading companies in the real estate, infrastructure or power sectors or with a licensed Master Plumber

 

Assessment and Certification:

Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.

 

Eligibility:

·         Male students enrolled in Standard XI in any stream; / Male students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in any stream;

·         Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview
