Gems and Jewellery
The Gems and Jewellery Sector is one of the largest growing sectors in India for the past few years. The Jewellery sector is playing a vital role in the growth of the Indian economy. Gold jewellery is the most preferred form of jewellery in demand in India as it is considered as the most auspicious jewellery. Gold occupies a major position of all investment instruments and it is the safest investment option. India is known as the largest consumer of Gold, and the largest diamond processor in the world too. All these factors making a high demand for the skilled people to work in this industry, since the true strength of jewellery industry in India is the employees in the jewellery industry who have performing excellent in jewellery manufacturing sector.
The course shall equip successful trainees with skills required to use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and tools to develop drawings which can be used as three-dimensional (3D) models for manufacturing jewellery. These CAD drawings provide information regarding size, shape, and weight of jewellery pieces to be manufactured for every stage of manufacturing the jewellery. Additionally, the course shall also include modules on maintaining Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), team coordination to ensure smooth work flow and maintaining occupational health and safety.

150 hours of Internship at gems and jewellery manufacturing units
Assessment and Certification:
Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.
80% attendance is mandatory for final assessment, certification & internship.
· Students enrolled in Plus One in any stream; / Students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in any stream;
Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview’.
