India is the world’s second largest producer of food next to china, and has the potential of being the biggest with food and agricultural sector. The food processing industry is one of the largest industries in India-it is ranked fifth in terms of production, consumption, export and expected growth. Fueled by what can be termed as a perfect ingredient for any industry- large disposable incomes-the food sector has been witnessing a marked change in consumption patterns
The course is intended to equip the successful trainees with the requisite knowledge and skills to prepare work area for hygiene and safety, and ensuring performance, efficiency and maintenance of process machineries and tools as per the specifications. On successful completion of the course, the candidate shall understand planning, production, equipment utilization and manpower required for baking process and effectively organizing ingredients and equipments for carrying out baking process. The trainees shall further obtain knowledge on design and development of specialty bakery products, packing and storage of baked products, cleanliness of the work area and equipments, documenting and maintaining records on raw materials, process and finished products and ensure health and safety and the workplace.

150 hours of Internship with leading food processing industries.
Assessment and Certification:
Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.
· Students enrolled in Plus One in any stream/ Students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in any stream;
Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview’.
