Draughtsman- Mechanical CAD (QP:CSC/Q0402)
The capital goods sector is the base of many industries and thus is an essential component of manufacturing. It contributes to 12% of India’s manufacturing output and 1.8% to GDP. The capital goods industry presently employs 1.4 million of people and is estimated to employ 2.8 million by 2017. The initial framework for the National Capital Goods Policy has been developed and the policy shall be formulated in the next few months. Rs.937 crore has been earmarked under Capital Goods Scheme to improve sector’s competitive edge.
The course shall equip successful trainees with the knowledge and skills required for creation and modification of 2D mechanical engineering design using CAD system and for developing component drawings for manufacturing, assembly, sub-assembly, installation. They are trained to select appropriate equipment and drawing software based on the type and complexity of the drawing functions to be carried out, use CAD system and undertake file management and associated customization of installed software including the use of macros, menus and default settings.

150 hours of internship with leading companies in the capital goods domain
Assessment and Certification:
Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.
· Students enrolled in Plus One in any stream;/Students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in any stream
· Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview’.
