Industry Highlights:

India’s media and entertainment industry has experienced a major boom over the last few years. The industry is expected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 13.9 per cent year-on-year to reach Rs 196,400 crore by 2019[1]. Television and internet advertising are expected to remain major contributors to the advertising pie in 2018. The film segment which contributed Rs 12,640 crore in 2014 is projected to grow steadily at a CAGR of 10 per cent[2]. Editing is a very important skill required in this sector and with the impressive growth of the television, internet advertising and film segments, employment opportunities for editors is immense.

 

Course Highlights:

The course is intended to equip the successful trainee with the requisite knowledge and skills to cut/ re-cut, assemble and merge production raw material (such as footage, music, sound

and images)into a sequential final output which is suitable for broadcasting. On successfully completing the course, the trainee will be able to understand the step by step process flow to be followed in editing which include comprehending the director’s vision, estimating the technical requirements and processes, managing video, sound and image assets effectively, undertaking cutting, sequencing and merging of raw material using digital software to create an output that meets the quality standards and requirements of production.

Internship:
150 hours of Internship with leading agencies in the media and entertainment industry

Assessment and Certification:

Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.

Eligibility:

·   Students enrolled in Plus One in any stream;/Students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in any stream;

·        Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Intervie
