Industry Highlights
India is world’s second largest producer of textiles and garments and accounts for 63% of the market share of textiles and garments. The domestic textile and apparel industry is estimated to grow from Rs. 4,288 Crores in 2014 to approximately Rs. 6,400 Crores by 2017 and Rs. 9,024 Crores by 2021. Indian textile sector is one of the largest contributors to the country’s exports with a share of 11%. 


Course Highlights:

The course will equip the successful trainees with the requisite knowledge and skills to design a clothing range and finalize prototype garments. On successful completion of the course, the successful trainee will be proficient in the entire process of designing starting from conducting market research for the particular season and identifying a theme, creating a mood board and colour board on the theme, finalizing the range of garments that will be ultimately  developed, creating  technical packs which clearly convey all guidelines for development of the sample, coordinating with tailors/merchandise makers about the requirements to finalizing the garment  prototype.

150 hours of Internship with leading apparel companies

Assessment and Certification:

Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.


·   Students enrolled in Plus One in any stream;/Students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in any stream;

·       Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview’
