As of 2015, the Indian furniture market was estimated to be worth Rs. 65,000 crore and employs around 5,00,000 workers[1] The Indian furniture industry is gradually transforming into a more organised and competitive segment. The entry of global brands in the sector, emergence of large retail players and the resultant consolidation are some of the factors responsible for this change. The online market for furniture in the country in 2014 was expected to Rs 269 Crores and it is expected that the online furniture market will grow with a CAGR of 75% and reach Rs 4723 Crores by 2020[2]

 

Course Highlights:

The course is intended to equip the successful trainees with the requisite knowledge and skills to assemble various products in modular furniture, fitting the parts together and checking the final installed products for any damages. On successful completion of the course, the candidate shall understand the entire process of installing modular furniture and will be able to conduct quality inspection of the installed products. Additionally the candidate will become competent in handling material, machinery, equipment and tools safely and correctly and have knowledge of the compliances associated with health, safety and security requirements at the workplace to prevent, control and minimize risk as much as possible.

Internship:
150 hours of Internship with leading furniture & fitting companies.

Assessment and Certification:

Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.

 

Eligibility:

·         Male students enrolled in Standard XI in any stream;/ Male students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in any stream;

·         Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview’
