Lab Chemist – Incoming Raw Material testing (QP: RSC/Q0312)
India is the 4th largest producer and 2nd largest consumer of natural rubber in the world. Kerala accounts for more than 90% of the total rubber production in the country.Total rubber consumption by various industries in 2014-15 was 3.7% more than in the previous year. To boost the domestic production, the government is in the process of formulating a national rubber policy and an insurance-based scheme for the planters. In the wake of these developments, demand for trained human resources in the sector especially in the production and processing of rubberis steadily increasing.
The course shall equip successful trainees with the knowledge and skills required for testing of incoming raw materials which are used during processing of rubber. They shall learn to conduct tests as per laid down methods and specifications, maintain the work area, undertake reporting and documentation, conduct quality checks, identify problems and resolve issues.

150 hours of internship with laboratories which test raw materials in rubber processing
Assessment and Certification:
Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.
· Students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in science stream;
· Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview
