India accounts for approximately 14% of the world’s production of textile. The domestic textile and apparel industry in India is estimated to reach Rs 9.59 lakh crores by 2021 from Rs 4.55 lakh crores in 2014 . The country’s textile is the second largest employer after agriculture, providing employment to over 4.5 crore people directly and 6 crore people indirectly. It is important to note that the annual consumer expenditure in clothing and footware in India is approximately Rs. 4.6 lakh crores is reflective of the high demand in the industry which further points towards the growing opportunities for merchandisers
The course shall enhance the knowledge and skills of the successful trainee to analyze the products, establish merchandising objectives, develop and present merchandizing plan, organize & coordinate for pre-production, factory coordination and managing shipment, maintain health, safety and security at workplace.

150 hours of Internship with leading apparel companies
Assessment and Certification:
Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.
· Students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in any stream
Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview’
