Rubber Nursery Supervisor (QP: RSC/Q6002)
The exports of rubber products in 2014-15 was 5% higher than in the previous year while the rubber consumption by various industries in 2014-15 was 3.7% more than in the previous year. Medium and small enterprises in the rubber sector have managed an impressive annual growth of 10% in 2014-15, thus pointing to the large growth potential of such enterprises if favorable policies are in place. The rubber industry fits in with the Government’s initiatives of Make in India and Skill India as thousands of rubber units spread across the country manufacture around 35,000 different rubber products which find usage in auto, defence, healthcare, agriculture and in various other critical sectors. Rubber industry is labour-intensive and presently employs approximately 3 million unskilled people and around 1 million skilled workers; the recent government initiatives shall result in a huge demand for skilled workers.
The course shall equip successful trainees with the knowledge and skills required to supervise and give technical advice on all the nursery activities of all workers, and to ensure the timely completion of all seasonal activities, smooth running of the nursery and production of quality planting materials. Trainees shall be trained to undertake rubber nursery development practices and production of advanced planting materials; undertake quality assurance; prepare of planting materials for sale; undertake data recording, compilation, documentation and reporting; identify and solve problems

150 hours of internship with rubber nurseries
Assessment and Certification:
Continuous assessment is carried out by the Training Service Provider and final assessment by an independent assessor, assigned by the Sector Skill Council. Certificate will be issued by Government of Kerala and the Sector Skill Council, to successful trainees.
· Students enrolled in 1st year of Bachelor’s Degree course in biology science;
· Students who have successfully completed ‘Aptitude Test’ and ‘Personal Interview
