A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) and Lekshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE), which is a part of the academic wing of Sports Authority of India, on 7th of November 2018. Smt. Reetha S Prabha , Chief Executive Officer of ASAP and Dr. Joselet Charlez, Assistant Director, SAI, LNCPE on behalf of the Principal Dr. G Kishore signed the agreement. The MoA was exchanged in the presence of various officials from LNCPE and ASAP.
The MoA facilitates the conduct of ASAP skill courses in sports sector like Fitness Trainer at LNCPE for their students aged 15-25 during the initial phase. This will enable the students to enter the Labour Market equipped with industry relevant skills. The instructors will be given special training to handle the NSQF aligned courses. Later on more industry relevant courses like Sports journalism, Sports Event Management etc. will be developed by experts from ASAP and LNCPE. ASAP also plans to set up a Skill Development Centre for sports sector in LNCPE premises which will be opened to the youth.
