ASAP-FICCI-INDUSTRY MEET

 ASAP – FICCI- Industry Meet July 14th, 2017.ASAP in association with FICCI conducted a roundtable meeting at Thrissur on July 14th.  Mr. PM Riyas, Head Strategy (ASAP)  welcomed the guests and emphasized on the intervention of Industry in Skill training.The Presidential address was delivered by Mr. CA Saleem, President, Chamber of Commerce, Thrissur. Mr. Jaikiran, Head Curriculum (ASAP)  briefed the participants on Skill Landscape and elaborated on the concept of ASAP. The participants included leading industrialist from Thrissur region.

 Mr. Deepak Aswani, Co-Chair FICCI delivered the key note address on the role of industry in Skilling and apprenticeship. Thereafter the floor was opened to discussion. The discussion was focussed on internship, Skill gap and programme identification and demand aggregation.

Business Advisory Committee Meeting -Hospitality sector

Business Advisory Committee meeting for Hospitality Sector was conducted on July 25th at Thiruvananthapuram. The meeting was chaired by EM Najeeb Chairman & Managing Director Airtravel Enterprise (Chairman BAC Hospitality Sector). The THSC CEO, Smt Sonali Sinha, delivered a presentation on increasing industry awareness about skill training in India with emphasize on NSQF. Presentation on sector was made by Mr Sujeesh PV ,Senior Programme Manager in charge of the Sector, ASAP. Further discussion was focused on emerging area in industry , course and content validation, identification of resource persons etc Additional Secretary Shri Rajendran Nair, Shri Ajith, Sector Head ASAP and Parvathy  programme Manager participated in the discussion along with Industry representatives.

Stone Laying Ceremony - CSP Amaravila

COMMUNITY SKILL PARK AT AMARAVILA

August 1, 2017, The foundation stone laying ceremony of Community Skill Park at Amaravila was held at LMS HSS Amravila. Hon MLA Shri K Ansalan laid the stone and delivered the inaugural speech. Shri CK Hareendran, Hon. MLA Parassala presided over the function. ASAP team members and important political personalities, students and institution fraternities were among the dignitaries present for the function.

 

Another Milestone for ASAP : B Tech Minor Programmes for Engineering Students

ASAP courses so far have been framed to aid the higher secondary and Arts and Science students in Government institutions. Efforts were always on to expand the boundaries and include more age groups and areas into the gamut of ASAP Training. APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) integration is one such opportunity that helps ASAP materialize hopes into reality. KTU has entrusted ASAP with a B.Tech Minor Programme course for Engineering students.This programme will give students opportunity to acquire an additional set of skills that will compliment their regular programme. Through this BTech, Graduates will get an opportunity to enter the job world.These courses will of NSQF Levels 4 to 6, following a credit based evaluation and reward system.
