Rountable Meeting on Employing Persons with Disabilities

Additional Skill Acquisition Programme on behalf of Government of Kerala, conducted a roundtable conference to identify employment opportunities and propose apt training programme for the differently enabled persons in IT & ITES sector. Read more...

The Meeting was presided by Chief Secretary to Government of Kerala, Shri SM Vijanand. Shri Vijayanad , in his key note address, specified that Kerala as the one & only state to identify differently enabled persons and maintain a repository of persons with disabilities under Social justice Department. The meeting focussed mainly on the process of training persons with disabilities and employing them in IT & ITES sector. Employers from around 30 IT companies and representatives from ILO (International Labour Organization), representatives from UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), IT Secretary Shri SIvasankar IAS, Dr. Reju MT,IAS,  CEO Additional Skill Acquisition Programme , Shri Harikishore IAS, Executive Director of Kudumbashree, Shri Biju K,IAS, Director of Employment & Training, and Shri Shahjahan, The Director of Social Justice  etc; participated in the meeting.

Government is proposing to train and employ around 20,000 differently enabled persons in various sectors in around one year of time span.
