Additional Skill Acquisition Programme



Industry Round Table on Skilling and Internship was conducted on 22 November 2017 at the Collector’s Conference Hall, Malappuram District. Welcoming the guests Mrs. Sumi M.A, District Programme Manager ASAP, deliberated on the scope of ASAP and its relevance in the industry and the community.Shri. Amith Meena IAS, District Collector, Malappuram Inaugurated the meeting. The Meeting was chaired by T. Abdul Vahab, General Manager, District Industries Centre.

In his inaugural speech, Shri. Amith Meena IAS reminded the delegates to actively engage the youth in skilling to reap the benefits of demographic dividend especially available in the district. Mr. Arun K. Vijayan IAS – Assistant Collector, Malappuram District, addressed the participants explaining the significance of skill training in producing competent, confident and efficient human resource for a productive economy. Mr PM Riyas Head- strategy, ASAP in his keynote address  detailed  on the role of industrialists in skilling and the  scope of upcoming Community Skill Park in the District in enhancing the employability of youth  and facilitate internships and  placement of the trained candidates.Mr.T. Abdul Vahab, directed the discussions emphasizing the need for skilling and the pivotal role of  industrialists in training delivery.Around 65 industries with 110 Delegates representing various industrialist, Associations, Entrepreneurs and Consortium's enriched the discussion with exchange of ideas
