Another Milestone for ASAP : B Tech Minor Programmes for Engineering Students

ASAP courses so far have been framed to aid the higher secondary and Arts and Science students in Government institutions. Efforts were always on to expand the boundaries and include more age groups and areas into the gamut of ASAP Training. APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) integration is one such opportunity that helps ASAP materialize hopes into reality. KTU has entrusted ASAP with a B.Tech Minor Programme course for Engineering students.This programme will give students opportunity to acquire an additional set of skills that will compliment their regular programme. Through this BTech, Graduates will get an opportunity to enter the job world.These courses will of NSQF Levels 4 to 6, following a credit based evaluation and reward system.

ASAP-FICCI-INDUSTRY MEET

 ASAP – FICCI- Industry Meet July 14th, 2017.ASAP in association with FICCI conducted a roundtable meeting at Thrissur on July 14th.  Mr. PM Riyas, Head Strategy (ASAP)  welcomed the guests and emphasized on the intervention of Industry in Skill training.The Presidential address was delivered by Mr. CA Saleem, President, Chamber of Commerce, Thrissur. Mr. Jaikiran, Head Curriculum (ASAP)  briefed the participants on Skill Landscape and elaborated on the concept of ASAP. The participants included leading industrialist from Thrissur region.

 Mr. Deepak Aswani, Co-Chair FICCI delivered the key note address on the role of industry in Skilling and apprenticeship. Thereafter the floor was opened to discussion. The discussion was focussed on internship, Skill gap and programme identification and demand aggregation.

INDUSTRY MEET- WAYANAD DISTRICT

Kalpatta: industry Roundtable conference was held by ASAP in collaboration with the District Industrial Department at the Collectorate Conference Hall. The meeting that was chaired by the District industries Office Manager Sri. V.K.Sreejan was inaugurated by A.D.M, Sri.K.M.Raju. About 30 industrialists were at the conference representing various industries.  The hurdles in the skill training arena and the challenges faced in the industrial sectors were discussed upon at the conference. The conference was addressed by Dr. Jaikiran  ((Head)Curriculum, ASAP),  Sri. Rajan (Business Development officer), and Smt. Mercy Priya ( District Programme Manager, ASAP).
 

University Integration- Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University

 Initial meeting of Higher level officials of Sanskrit University was conducted on 30th August 2017 at Sree Sankaracharya University campus, Aluva. The authorities welcomed this new initiative of ASAP wholeheartedly and promised to extend full support to start the programme at the earliest.
