District Review Meeting

Presided by Dr. Sriram Venkitaraman, the new CEO of ASAP, the District Review meeting is progressing at ASAP Headquarters on 26th & 27th September 2017. The meeting reviews the status of Skill and Foundation courses, accomplishments, concerns, and challenges at the field level of ASAP. The Meeting was chaired by Mr. Rajendran Nair, Team leader and Additional Secretary in presence of all Division, Sector Heads and Programme Managers.

The photo is of the ADB mission team updating the progress of ASAP with Chief Secretary Dr.KM Abraham, taken during the mid-term review by  Asian Development Bank which was held at ASAP Headquarters from September 10th 2017. The five-day long meeting reviewed the activities accomplished so far by ASAP and discuss the future prospects of the programmeASAP is the first loan extended programme by ADB under Result Based Lending Scheme and the first one in Skill Development in India. ASAP has achieved all result indicators specified.The ADB team was represented by Ms. Sunhwa lee ( Principal Social Sector Specialist), Mr. Fook Yen Chong, Mr.Royotaro   (Social Sector Specialist) and Kanupriya Gupta, Project officer, India Resident Mission, Asian Development Bank.  


Business Advisory Committee Meeting -Hospitality sector

Business Advisory Committee meeting for Hospitality Sector was conducted on July 25th at Thiruvananthapuram. The meeting was chaired by EM Najeeb Chairman & Managing Director Airtravel Enterprise (Chairman BAC Hospitality Sector). The THSC CEO, Smt Sonali Sinha, delivered a presentation on increasing industry awareness about skill training in India with emphasize on NSQF. Presentation on sector was made by Mr Sujeesh PV ,Senior Programme Manager in charge of the Sector, ASAP. Further discussion was focused on emerging area in industry , course and content validation, identification of resource persons etc Additional Secretary Shri Rajendran Nair, Shri Ajith, Sector Head ASAP and Parvathy  programme Manager participated in the discussion along with Industry representatives.


ASAP organized an industry roundtable meeting at the Collectorate Conference Hall , Pathanamthitta on 19th October 2017, which was aimed at synergizing the local industries with ASAP. The meeting was inaugurated by Smt. Anu S Nair ADM. The Presidential address was delivered by General Manager, District Industries Centre, Pathanamthitta. In his welcome address Shri Vivekanandan Nair, Head Communication Division outlined the salient aspects of ASAP skill training and also the need for strengthening industry connections. In the keynote address, Dr KP Jaikiram, Head Curriculum and content development & Logistic sector,  (ASAP) emphasized on the proactive role to be taken by industry in Skill Training. Leading industry representatives of the district attended the meeting. In the discussions that followed, industry representatives spoke about their need for skilled manpower and also the limitations being faced by them in finding suitable candidates for the various job roles.

3. Tender invited for Supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 13 Nos. 125KVA, 415Volts Diesel Generator Set in acoustic enclosure with all necessary accessories, and Maintenance Contract for a period of 5 years after defects liability period of one year. Click here for details.
