ASAP celebrates World youth skills day

Additional Skill Acquisition Programme, ASAP launches skill training programmes for 2018-2019 on world youth skills day. Prof C Ravindranath, Minister for Education, Govt of Kerala inaugurated the state level function held at Govt HSS, Nandikara, Thrissur.  Smt. Haritha V Kumar IAS, CEO, ASAP welcomed the gathering. Smt. Mary Thomas, District Panchayat President, Thrissur, presided the function. Sri C.N Jayadevan, Member of Parliament, Thrissur delivered the keynote address.  

As a part of celebration and to raise awareness on the importance of investing in youth skills development, experience sharing of alumni, Poster designing competition, skills expo, orientation on skill courses and motivational talks were conducted at various Skill Development Centres across the state.


HOOPLA- One day theatre camp by ASAP SDE Forum, Thrissur

ASAP SDE Forum Thrissur has conducted a one day theatre camp "HOOPLA" for all ASAP SDEs, PMs and PEs all over Kerala on Sunday 20th May. It was led by renowned film director Sri. M.G Sasi and his team.

Healthcare HR Conclave - NIYOGA 2018

Healthcare HR conclave, “Niyoga 2018” was conducted by Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) in association with the Healthcare sector at Symphony Hall, Mascot Hotel, Trivandrum. The main agenda of the conclave was to strengthen the aspects that can help the healthcare sector in Kerala. The attempt was fortify the resources in Kerala and to congregate the various opportunities in the sector in order to explore the emerging and evolving roles in healthcare, to improve employability through apprenticeship linked training programmes and to analyze the capacity of medical tourism. The programme which was presided over by Dr. M. I Sahadulla, CMD, KIMS Hospital, was inaugurated by Dr Usha Titus IAS, Principal Secretary, Dept. of Higher Education. In the keynote address Dr. K. M. Abraham, IAS (Retd.), Chairman KIIFB, emphasized on untapping the potentials of Kerala to help in the transformation of Kerala into a medical technology hub through the collaborated efforts of academia, industry and the government. 

ASAP represents vocational training industry of Kerala at Global Exhibition on Services

In the fourth edition of Global Exhibition on Services hosted at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, Additional Skill Acquisition Programme, ASAP, represented vocational and skill training industry of Kerala on the five day conclave inaugurated by Honorable President of India, Sri Ram Nath Kovind.

GES is India’s flagship conclave on global services that brings together Indian and international players in the services sector to showcase the unparalleled opportunities India holds in the trade and strategic cooperation on services.  In GES 2018, twelve champion sectors on services were identified.  Transport and Logistics; Legal; Environment; Tourism and Hospitality; Accounting and Finance; Communication; Banking, Financial and Insurance; Health and wellness; Media and Entertainment; Infrastructure and Construction and Education.

Apart from Business to Business, Business to Government, Government to Government meetings, various knowledge sessions and presentations on state Governments were also held. In its presentation on Successful Industry skill Models- Strategy, Sustainability, Scalability, ASAP received special mention for its successful implementation.  

Foreign delegates from Belarus, Georgia and Japan also expressed their interest in collaborating with the Community Skill Parks.


Delegates from Singapore participating in the Singapore Skills Investment Mission to Kerala had a meeting with the ASAP CEO, the Additional Secretary and the Divisional Heads on April 16th, 2018 at ASAP HQ, Vazhuthacaud, Trivandrum.
