Electric Vehicles are being popular nowadays because of the no hazards to the environment and low running costs. To meet climate goals of cleaner air, lower emissions the Governments are giving an aggressive push for sustainable means of transport.

According to the European Climate Foundation, transition from fossil fuel vehicles to EVs will provide job opportunities on a scale of 5,00,000 to 8,00,000 across the world. NITI Aayog, in the report on the policy framework for EV, has estimated that more than 2 million additional jobs will be created by the EV sector by the end of 2050.

The Automobile Industry is undergoing a rapid transition from reliance on internal combustion engines (ICEs) to battery electric vehicles (EVs). The Union Government, has set apart an outlay of 10,000 crore for the period 2019-22 for the implementation of Faster Adoption & Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles II (FAME II), for promoting EV.The National Electric Mobility Mission plan aims at 6-7 million sales of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles every year post 2021.

The State Government plans to ensure a robust infrastructure for electric vehicles that includes adequate Power availability, Network of charging points, and favorable power tariff.
