The Industry would need around 2 million persons to handle the entry level accounting functions by the year 2020. Given this huge demand coupled with lack of skilled manpower in the area of accounting, have made the Institute to introduce an affordable, short-term employment oriented course called Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT). The Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT) course is aligned with the Qualification Pack BSC/Q8101 - Accounts Executive of BFSI Sector Skill Council (BFSISSC).
The Institute of Cost Accountants of India is a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament has been backed by more than 7 decades of expertise in the field of Cost and Management Accounting in this country. Its courses are always industry oriented and designed to provide industry ready personnel. In order to provide hands on training to the students enrolled for CAT Course, the Institute has tied up Federation of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (FISME). The industry members of FISME spread across the country will absorb CAT Students as interns in their organizations.
This Course has been introduced in consultation with Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. CAT equip students become well versed with the maintenance of accounts, preparation of Tax Returns, Filling of Returns under Companies Act, Filling of Returns under Income Tax, GST, Customs Act, Export & Import documentation etc.

The Internship will be for 45 days. The Internship can be taken from organizations prescribed under Internship scheme of CAT Course.
Fully online training sessions; final assessment will be conducted at prescribed centres where the student has to be present physically.
CAT Course will be offered in all the locations identified by the ASAP KERALA, provided a minimum of 30 students opt for the same in each of the locations. Classes will be organized after the normal schools/college hours, or and during week- ends without affecting the regular studies of the students.
In order to provide a quality delivery model to the CAT Students, IT based self-assessment and study module has been developed. All the CAT students using login ID and password can access this module on-line at any time and assess their learning of CAT subjects. Chapter wise question bank is hosted in this module and the students can see their scoring also at the end of the session. Student can see the latest updates about the subjects and other CAT related events through the dash board. This unique module makes the learning interesting and enhances the quality of learners.
