This 25 weeks part time upskilling course is targeted towards working professionals in the animation industry with a min of 2 years of experience. Learners who want to acceletrate their career from being an animator to a lead/ superviser or director. It equips learners, from both an artistic and a managerial viewpoint, with an indepth study of various conceptual tools and practical techniques for effective creative leadership. The amalgmation of these two perspectives, commonly considered antagonistic, is what gives this course a distinct edge to aspiring animation directors. On the one hand the course will reiterate the learners understanding and skill of drawing, story, performance techniques & cinematic language and on the other it will delve into various transferable and managerial skills -which are integral for effective leadership in the creative industries. Learners will also learn how to set quality standards through team building & productive leadership.

This is a leadership course for working professionals in the CG industry who are looking to advance their careers and move up the ladder.
This course has been co-designed with industry professionals so as to really understand the realities of being a creative lead, and how to efficiently solve them. Candidates who finish this course will have gained a higher understanding of leading creative teams, maintaining high standards of quality, schedule and budget management, and high-scale problem solving.
The course was designed as part-time, so as to allow working professionals to participate on this course while continuing with their jobs. The first week & the last week of the course taught fulltime on-campus, at Datsi School for Storytellers campus in KINFRA Film and Video park, Thiruvananthapuram. The remaining 22 weeks of the course will be taught online, requiring 10 hours per week. This allows working professionals to continue with their jobs as they study.
