Key Topics

Types of energy sources from various scientific and technological standpoints with a focus on the uses, limitations and consequences of using energy that is available to humanity

Apart from the energy consumed by appliances, lighting and equipment, a building’s energy performance also depends on properly installing and maintaining this equipment over its lifetime, and the quality of the building envelope.

Energy use in buildings depends on a combination of good architecture and energy systems design and on effective operations and maintenance once the building is occupied.

Bureau of Energy Efficiency launched Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) 2007 to establish minimum energy performance standards for buildings. Designed to support organisations in all sectors, ISO standard provides a practical way to improve energy use, through the development of an energy management system (EnMS).

The building characteristic economic performance has been calculated in order to see how the effects of energy efficiency impact asset evaluation and subsequently yield on investment.
