ASAP Kerala invites Consultants / Mentors from reputed Industries, R&D Institutions, Colleges, Universities, to promote excellence and leadership in skill training and allied activities of ASAP Kerala, as well as to facilitate wider and deeper interactions of ASAP Kerala fraternity with relevant industrial practices.

Highly motivated and dynamic industry personnel, academicians, professional including retired teachers and officers possessing excellent academic background, having commitment and passion to impart quality higher order skill training and potential for pursuing cutting-edge activities related to curriculum  and  content development, instructional design, developing norms for training body accreditations with course affiliations, assessment & certification services, talent database building, arranging placement and internships for students and study abroad services, among other skills, are encouraged to apply.

Modes of engagement, eligibility, duration, honorarium and allowance:

1. Consultants

a. Objective: Eminent persons with experience from the industry,  R&D organisations, colleges and Universities can be engaged as Consultants, who would be expected to spend part time/full time at ASAP, as required by the project they are assigned. The Consultants are expected to work on the ASAP Projects as detailed above by bringing deep understanding and appreciation of the best practices as applied in real world settings in various sectors/clusters of skill training .

b. Duration of the assignment: 1 year, can be extended up to 3 years, or up to the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

c. Eligibility: Candidates should have experience either as faculty or technical, managerial or professional experience of minimum 10 years and possess either a  Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Design, or Medicine, or a Master’s degree in Science, Humanities, Management, Education, Law, or related fields. A Ph.D. is preferable but not mandatory. The job role is not available for those who are employed full-time in any organisation. d. Honorarium: The honorarium will depend on the experience and whether the position can be held in full time or part time capacity, subject to a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakhs consolidated per month.

e. TDS will be applicable as per GoI/IT rules

f. Consultant positions are offline roles. Consultants are expected to report to work at ASAP Kerala’s Headquarters and other locations.

2. Mentor

a. Mentors will be selected specific to clusters/sectors, such as IT/ITES, Healthcare, Fitness, Tourism & Hospitality, Construction, BFSI, Legal, Medical, Automotive & EV and Manufacturing, among others.

b. In this mode of engagement, the Mentors are expected to spend short durations at ASAP Kerala at regular intervals to assist the consultants/staff of ASAP Kerala with specific projects relevant to the sector. Mentors are also responsible for:

  1. Support in identifying and communicating with potential stakeholders from suitable industries and building linkages that could help ASAP Kerala in course curation activities.
  2. Support in identifying and obtaining stakeholders  from suitable industries for placement and internship opportunities.
  3. Mentoring various divisions of ASAP Kerala in industry linkage activities.

c. This role is hybrid in nature (online & offline).

d. The appointment will be to the post of Mentor initially for a period of one year with effect from the date of signing of non-disclosure agreement with ASAP Kerala subject to the following terms and conditions;

  1. Job Title: Mentor
  2. Mode of Engagement: Hybrid. Mentors (Industry Linkages) shall be available for online meetings upon requirement and may report at ASAP HQ on request from the concerned Head of Division.
  3. Benefits: ASAP Kerala will bear the cost of the mentors’ Travel and Accommodation arrangements in Trivandrum for ASAP visits in connection with the mentorship activities as envisaged above.

Selection process:

All positions shall be appointed by the Chairperson & Managing Director based on the recommendations of a standing screening-cum-selection committee. These positions are short term contract positions only, part time/full time, initially for a period of one year, extendable for a total period of 3 years, or up to the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier. The extension will be based on performance and on the recommendation of the committee. Reputed scientists, engineers, physicians, retired civil and defence officers , technocrats, financial experts, entrepreneurs, architects, managers, experts in media, literature, fine arts, legal professionals, designers and other professionals will be considered for the above positions based on the eligibility as mentioned above. Chairperson & Managing Director has the right to consider applications of exceptionally good candidates not falling in the above mentioned criteria. Persons appointed as Consultants / Mentors will have no right or claim for regular appointment or continuance of the post at ASAP Kerala, other than the terms specified above.
