PG Diploma in Applied Medical Diagnostics

This is a 6-month short term, practical oriented course that will enable you to grasp the fundamentals of medical diagnostics, operating principles of IVD equipment and its applications to take up challenging jobs related to healthcare segments. The course provides an upskilling ecosystem in the country to enhance the employability of students. This is a pioneering course focused on industry-academia collaborations to create techno-commercial professionals.

Programme Outcome:

1. Gain an understanding of the methods for obtaining various biomedical signals from biological systems and processing the signals for estimating various biological parameters.
2. Get an overview of the lifecycle of a medical device, its national and global regulatory compliance requirements, process of approval, post market surveillance and more.
3. International requirements for quality management systems and product testing standards, among other relevant topics, are also briefly covered in the course.
4. Gain an understanding of the fundamentals of Healthcare and awareness of Hospital & Lab Operations (pre-analytics & post analytics), Biochemistry, Immunology, and Molecular Diagnostics.
5. Gain an awareness of haematology, critical care, and microbiology.
6. Have a developed conceptual understanding on, as well as the skill sets related to, Data Sciences, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Medical Technology applications, basic awareness of the Internet of Things, and on the basic working principles of Electric Servo Drives and Motors used in sophisticated medical devices.
