Dr.B.Ashok holds a Ph.D. in Media & Communication from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi and Masters Degrees in Water Management and Political Science from the Universities of London and Turin, respectively. He has been a Civil Servant in Indian Administrative Service since 1998 holding various important posts in State Government, Central Government and Academic Institutions. He has been the Executive Director of a World Bank Assisted Project in Water Resources; Deputy Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, the first Vice Chancellor of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Science University and Secretary to Government in the Departments of Power, Water Resources and Agriculture in the State Government.
He is presently Principal Secretary Higher Education Department and acting Vice chancellor of Kerala Agricultural University. He has seven books to his credit of which two are best sellers and has hundreds of published articles in peer reviewed reputed Journals and Newspapers. His petitions in the Kerala High Court and Central Administrative Tribunal have helped settle the Law for appointment and removal of Vice Chancellors and transfer rules of IAS Officers to be observed by State Governments.
