Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education and Social Justice Dr. R. Bindu inaugurated ASAP Kerala’s Community Skill Park (CSP) in Pampady, Kottayam District, and dedicated it to the State in the presence of Hon’ble Minister for Cooperation and Registration Shri. V.N. Vasavan, Hon’ble MLA Puthupally Adv. Chandy Oommen, Hon’ble Member of Lok Sabha Shri. Thomas Chazhikadan and other dignitaries on 10th October, 2023.
The Community Skill Park is a public-private partnership project to equip students and the general public with the skills required for various industrial sectors and make them suitable for better employment opportunities through skill training.
The CSP constructed at Pampady in the Kottayam district is one of the 16 state-of-the-art skill parks in Kerala, spread over an area of 91.25 cents land and 28193.14 sq.ft. With accessible-to-all facilities, the three-floor building has well-equipped classrooms, lab facilities, changing rooms with locker facilities, meeting rooms, server rooms and an IT lab with network connectivity.
While lauding the efforts of the Higher Education Ministry and ASAP Kerala, the Hon’ble Minister said, “Students can grow from being job seekers to job givers by taking up an innovative idea and starting a business. By being able to provide employment to colleagues and peers, they can transform themselves into the leaders of tomorrow”.
The Community Skill Park in Pampady will be offering courses with excellent job prospects like Quality Control & Quality Assurance Techniques in Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Industries, Ayurvedic Therapy & Panchakarma, Certified Business Accounting Programme, and Advanced Certified Business Accounting Programme in the field of Accounting. The CSP in Pampady also has a Center of Excellence in AR/VR, established with the monetary support of Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission with state-of-the-art facilities like Oculus Quest, Microsoft HoloLens, Ricoh – 360 Degree 4K Spherical VR Camera, Dell OptiPlex 7090 Tower PC, & Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop for offering courses in VR Artist, VR Developer, Game Developer & Programmer.
Bipha Academy and ASAP Kerala will jointly implement various programmes at the Community Skill Park in Pampady, which will enable many young men and women to realize their dream of employment in the coming years. The Community Skill Parks are aimed at making a big difference in the skill development of the youth, and consequently, in the employment sectors.
