Admissions to Community Colleges are now open
Community colleges offer a three-year credit-based DVoc (Diploma in Vocation) programme (approved by AICTE). The programme is in alignment with NSQF, and there is flexibility for multiple entry and exit, with certification at the allowed exit level, initially by the State Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Government of Kerala. ASAP Kerala acts as the skill training partner for the programme. In addition to the State Technical Exams Board Certificate, the incumbents shall also receive an NSDC certificate approved by the Government of India upon successful completion of the programme facilitated by ASAP Kerala.
For 2022-2023, five polytechnic colleges implementing the community college scheme and the sectors identified by them are listed below:
- Government Polytechnic College, Attingal, Trivandrum – Automobile Service Technician, Travel and Tourism
Government Polytechnic College, Nattakom, Kottayam – Automobile Service Technician
Government Polytechnic College, Perinthalmanna, Malappuram – Electronics Manufacturing Services
IPT and Government Polytechnic College, Shornur – Printing Technology
Maharaja’s Technological Institute, Thrissur – Electronics Manufacturing services
