Course Overview
This 4-month intensive program provides aspiring Texture and LookDev artists with the essential skills and knowledge needed to create stunning textures and develop visually appealing looks for various assets in animation and visual effects industries. The course is targeted towards new artists who are entering the CG industry. No prior CG or Animation knowledge is required. The course will start with the fundamental principles and elements of art and design, CG fundamentals, software tools and then slowly deep dive into different aspects of texturing and look development. Aligning with art, the course focuses on advanced tools, industry work flows, pipeline tools and various techniques. By the end of this course, students will have the expertise and confidence to create captivating textures and develop visually appealing looks for assets, making them well-prepared for a successful career as asset artists in the animation and visual effects industry. In just four months, become an extremely well-refined texture and look development artist with a strong portfolio in hand!

This course has been co-designed with industry professionals so as to fill the gaps between education and industry. Candidates who finish this course will be industry-ready, have knowledge of the latest tools and pipelines, and have a creative edge over their peers. Students will also have a portfolio which will be aligned with the industry standards on all fronts.
The course will be taught full time on-campus, at Datsi’s School for Storytellers campus in KINFRA Film and Video park, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Datsi School for Storytellers has tie-ups with several animation studios in India and around the world. Candidates have a higher possibility of being selected by the top Animation, Games, or Visual Effects Studios across the globe.
