Dual recognition for ASAP Kerala

ASAP Kerala has become the first agency in the state to be accorded dual recognition — Awarding Body (AB) and Assessment Agency (AA) — at the national level. The accreditation was awarded by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. NCVET is a regulatory body that monitors quality in technical and vocational education and skill training. Dr Usha Titus, Chairperson and Managing Director, ASAP Kerala, and Dr Nirmal Jeet Singh Khalsi, Chairperson, NCVET, formalised the agreement.


ASAP Kerala has been tasked with creating a skilling ecosystem in Kerala as a part of upgrading all skill courses in the state to NSQF standards. The recognition will pave the way for ensuring excellence and coordination of vocational training centres in Kerala.

 


With this recognition from NCVET as the awarding body, ASAP Kerala assumes the following responsibilities:

● Right to award certificates to trainees subject to successful completion of training and assessment for an approved qualification
● Responsible for creation of QPs and related learning material
● Responsible for the development of affiliation/ accreditation norms for training partners and affiliating/ accrediting training partners
● Responsible for onboarding assessment agencies to ensure fair and reliable assessments through pre-defined norms and processes
● Monitor the functioning of Training Partners (TPs)  and Assessment Agencies (AA)
